![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The sex scenes are erotic and carefully woven into the story, and the character and story development are both great. Cain is a Wolverine type, whereas Abel is more earnest, but both of them are completely round characters. The story focuses on the relationship between the central navigator/fighter duo, Cain and Abel, although we also get to know several other key duos on the ship. A great visual device the author uses is that the navigators all have light hair and features while the fighters have dark hair and features, and the almost entirely black and white artwork is extremely effective. The crew consists of military personnel, the bulk of whom are divided into pairs of navigators, who steer the two-man fighter ship (called a starfighter), and fighters, who shoot the guns of those ships. The setting is outer space, and while I’m not usually into really heavy sci-fi, for the most part the comic doesn’t get bogged down at all with epic space politics like in Star Wars or Star Trek and instead limits itself to the crew within a single space battleship. Starfighter is a webcomic by an artist/writer who goes by HamletMachine and was begun about eight years ago, and it’s still going strong with 400+ pages to enjoy. I don’t remember who recommended Starfighter to me, but I’m glad s/he did. ![]()
